Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Monday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and urged him to grant an industrial package to Himachal on the lines of Northeastern states. He demanded that the rail network should be strengthened and pace of work accelerated on the Rohtang tunnel so that the tunnel is open throughout the year
The PM appreciated his performance in 100 days and assured all possible support for development of the state. Modi asked the CM to identify three areas and work on these to become the role model for the country. The PM said new initiatives reflected the commitment of the state to improving the state and lives of the common man .During the meeting, the CM urged the Prime Minister to provide more funds under phase-II of UDAN Yojana so that residents could take the benefit of the scheme.
