The Supreme Court has sought a status report on the ongoing mediation in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute case by July 18 and said that if the matter is not resolved amicably it may start daily hearings from July 25. In a short order passed on Thursday, a five-judge bench led by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi said “we deem it proper to request Justice FM Ibrahim Kalifulla to inform this court the progress of mediation till date and the stage at which the said process is presently at”. Justice Kalifulla is the head of the three-member mediation panel, which includes spiritual guru Sri Ravi Shankar and senior advocate Sriram Panchu.
