The first Sovereign Gold Bonds for this fiscal will remain open till April 28 and the bonds will be issued on May 12. (Reuters)Sovereign Gold Bonds (SGB)’s scheme first tranche opened for public subscription on Monday. The first SGBs for this fiscal will remain open until April 28 and the bonds will be issued on May 12. Like rest of the series in the past, sovereign gold Bonds will be sold through banks, Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited (SHCIL), designated Post Offices (as may be notified) and recognised stock exchanges – National Stock Exchange of India Limited and Bombay Stock Exchange, either directly or through agents.

The Know-your-customer (KYC) documentation norms will be the same as that for the purchase of physical gold and documents such as Voter ID, Aadhaar card/PAN or TAN /Passport will be required.
