Leader of the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) Mukesh Agnihotri, speaking on the motion of thanks on the address of the Governor, said different centres of power were working in the new government. He said the RSS was trying to run the government with remote control. Agnihotri advised Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur to keep remote in his own hands. There were two choices for the new government. Either it should follow the agenda of development or political vendetta. The bureaucracy would want that the new government should settle political score.
The CM should choose the development agenda, the leader said.He said the previous Congress government had worked hard under the leadership of former CM Virbhadra Singh. It was due to a political accident that a major change had happened in Himachal politics.Agnihotri said the address of the Governor did not illustrate any direction or vision of the government. He said it was unfortunate that just after taking over the reins of the state, the government was cribbing over the financial crisis. The Congress government never made any hue and cry about the financial situation. Now as there was the BJP government at the Centre, the Chief Minister should seek a financial package.
