    Reliance Industries tops list of Indian companies, LIC’s ranking drops

    Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries has topped the list of Indian companies in the latest Fortune Global 500 list at the 88th position. This is his top ranking. Reliance was ranked 104th in the 2022 list, which has increased to 88 in this year’s list. In this way, the country’s most valuable company Reliance has been successful in jumping 16 places in a year. In the last two years, Reliance has improved a total of 67 places in the Fortune Global list. The company was ranked 155th in the list of the year 2021.

    LIC drops nine places to 107th position

    Companies in the Fortune Global 500 list are selected on the basis of their total revenue during the financial year ended March. A total of eight Indian companies, including Reliance, have been ranked in the latest list. The second Indian company in this list is Indian Oil Corporation, which has jumped 48 places to 94th position. Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has dropped nine places to 107th position this time. Other public sector companies – ONGC, BPCL and SBI – have also made it to the list.

    Tata Motors jumps 33 places in rankings

    ONGC has been ranked 158th, BPCL 233rd and SBI 235th in the list. Tata Motors and Rajesh Exports are two other Indian companies in the list. Tata Motors has improved 33 places to 337th position while Rajesh Exports has jumped 84 places to 353rd position. This is the 20th consecutive year that Reliance has made its place in the Fortune Global list. Reliance Industries’ consolidated revenue surged 23.2 per cent to a record Rs 9,76,524 crore in 2022-23.
