Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Sanjay Seth inaugurated MILMEDICON-2025 — the International Conference on Physical and Mental Trauma in Military Settings — on 28th August 2025 at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi. The event has been organised by the Directorate General of Medical Services (Army).
In his inaugural address, Shri Seth highlighted India’s commitment to advancing military medicine through global partnerships, cutting-edge research, and respect for the legacy of service. He described the conference as a tribute to the nation’s warriors and a crucial step towards future-ready healthcare solutions.
The two-day conference goes beyond being a scientific gathering. In sync with the Indian Army’s Year of Reforms, MILMEDICON-2025 serves as a strategic initiative to enhance international collaboration and strengthen trauma care capabilities in military operational environments.
This year’s edition also marks a historic milestone — the Centenary of the Military Nursing Service, celebrating 100 years of exceptional service and the unwavering spirit of Nari Shakti in combat medical care.
Key themes of the deliberations include:
-
Advanced Combat Trauma Care
-
Integration of Artificial Intelligence in Military Healthcare
-
Innovative Trends in Emergency and Battlefield Response
-
Women in Combat and Leadership Roles
The conference has attracted representatives from over 15 countries, participating in panel discussions, poster presentations, and a scientific gallery exhibition, making it a truly global platform for dialogue and innovation in military medicine. Senior dignitaries from the Indian Armed Forces, international delegations, civilian healthcare leaders, and academia are also actively contributing to the discussions.
