Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil two new Vande Bharat Express trains at Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh on Friday during his two-day visit to four states. Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various projects worth a total of ₹50,000, crore during his visit.
According to the media reports Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Gorakhpur on Friday, where he will inaugurate two new Vande Bharat Express trains – Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express and Jodhpur-Sabarmati Vande Bharat Express. With the addition of these two trains, the total number of semi-high speed trains running across the country will be 25.
Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express
The upcoming semi-high-speed train, decorated in blue and white, , will establish an important connection between the cities of Gorakhpur, known as the city of Baba Gorakhnath, and Lucknow, , also known as the city of Nawabs, . The train will cover a distance of 302 km, including a stop at Ayodhya Junction, completing the journey in less than four hours. The train is set to start its regular service from July 9.
The Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express will depart from Gorakhpur at 6.05 am and reach Lucknow at 10.20 am the same day. On its return journey, the train will depart from Lucknow at 7.15 pm and reach Gorakhpur at 11.25 pm the same day.
The inaugural mini version of the semi-high-speed train in the state will have eight coaches, including seven air-conditioned chair car and one executive chair car coach. The train, will provide better connectivity to tourist destinations like Kushinagar, Siddharthnagar and Sant Kabir Nagar, the birthplace of the 15th century mystic poet Kabir. These areas will benefit from increased transport facilities and easier access for tourists.
Currently, the travel time for this route by train usually ranges from four and a half to five hours. The Arunachal Superfast Express is the fastest train on this route, completing the journey in about four hours and 35 minutes. It stands as the train with the shortest travel duration on this particular route.
Jodhpur-Sabarmati Vande Bharat Express
The semi-high-speed train will facilitate transportation between Jodhpur in Rajasthan and Ahmedabad in Gujarat. Along with its route, the train, will also provide connectivity to other important destinations like Pali, Abu Road, Palanpur and Mehsana.
According to a Western Railway (WR) press release, the semi-high-speed train will start its journey from Ahmedabad (Sabarmati) at 4:45 pm and reach Jodhpur at 10:55 pm the same day. On its return journey, the train will depart from Jodhpur at 5.55 am and reach Ahmedabad (Sabarmati) at 12.05 pm the same day.
During the journey, the train will halt at Mahesana, Palanpur, Abu Road, Falna and Pali Marwar stations in both directions. Currently, it usually takes around seven and a half to nine hours to travel on this route. However, with the introduction of this new train, passengers can expect a considerable reduction in travel time. The train will run six days a week except Tuesday, which will provide regular and efficient service to the passengers.
At a recent event, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated five Vande Bharat Express trains from Bhopal’s Rani Kamlapati railway station. These trains include Rani Kamlapati (Bhopal)-Jabalpur Vande Bharat Express, Khajuraho-Bhopal-Indore Vande Bharat Express, Madgaon (Goa)-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express, Dharwad-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express and Hatia-Patna Vande Bharat Express. The Prime Minister’s participation reflects the expansion and diversification of the Vande Bharat Express fleet, which caters to different regions and routes across the country.
