Petrol, diesel prices rose on Monday tracking the recent fall in the value of rupee against the US dollar. While petrol became costlier by 19-20 paise per litre, diesel prices rose by 9-10 paise per litre across major cities of the country, according to data available on Indian Oil Corporation website.
After Monday’s price revision, unbranded petrol, in the national capital Delhi is priced at Rs 70.53, up 19 paise compared to Sunday’s price of Rs 70.34 and diesel is retailing at Rs 64.47, 9 paise. In the country’s business capital Mumbai, petrol is sold at 19 paise higher at Rs 76.15 compared to previous price. Diesel in Mumbai is sold at Rs 67.47, up by 9 paise.
