Know how to worship Pitradosh Shanti on Amavasya –
1. On every Amavasya day, while meditating on your ancestors, offer raw lassi, a little Ganga jal, black sesame, sugar, rice, water and flowers on the Peepal tree and chant the mantra ‘Om Pitrubhaya: Namah’. After that, reciting Pitrusukta gives auspicious results.
2. On every Sankranti, Amavasya and Sunday, offer arghya to The Sun God three times by mixing red sandalwood, Ganga water and pure water in a copper vessel and reciting the beej mantra of ‘Om Pitrubhya: Namah’.
3. On every Amavasya day, one should face south and offer ‘Pitru Tarpan’ for the departed ancestors and forefather. One should recite Pitru Stotra or Pitrusukta.
4. Reciting Neelkanth Stotra on Trayodashi, reciting Sarpasukta on Panchami Tithi, reciting Shri Narayan Kavach on Poornimasi, Brahmins should eat food with the favorite sweets and Dakshina of the deceased according to their ability.
5-The native of Magha Nakshatra should light a lamp for their ancestors on every Amavasya day in a month. Usually the direction of south is of Yama. But astrologers have said that this lamp can also be lit in the east direction. After lighting the lamp, you should meditate on your ancestors and ask for their blessings.
If there is a peepal tree, then the lamp should be lit under it. This increases the total and brings prosperity, money and opulence in life.
