Oil India Limited organised a 20 km cycle rally with about 300 participants, as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, celebrating the 75th year of India’s independence. The agenda of the event was to spread awareness about reducing oil consumption.
Shri Rameswar Teli, Hon’ble Minister of State, P&G & L&E & Shri Terash Gowala, MLA, Duliajan participated in the event flagged off by Shri Prasanta, Borkakoty, RCE, OIL at Nehru Maidan, Duliajan, which followed the route through South Bank, Naharkatiya.
Shri Manash Kr Sharma, ED (Basin Manager-Shelf) & Shri Atindra Roychoudhury, ED (PS) were also present with the school children, CISF jawans, cycling club members, OIL Indians & others. Veteran cyclists Shri Bhupen Likson & Smt Jumi Mahanta were felicitated.
Shri Teli emphasised how cycling keeps us fit while saving fuel. He urged cyclists to keep inspiring others. Shri Borkakoty thanked all participants. The event ended with a vote of thanks & a group photo of the cyclists with the Hon’ble Minister.
