The Sipat-based unit of India’s largest power producer in public sector, has distributed 24900 face masks to hundreds of people in 13 villages on Thursday, a press statement informed. The masks were handed over to village sarpanchs by K Sreelatha, AGM (HR) in presence of A K Bokhad, DGM (CSR) and Sonit Kumar, Manager (CSR).
It was also advised to all the sarpanchs to download “Aarogya Setu App” in their mobile phone, further banners were distributed for wider publicity among the villagers about this app. In the fight against Covid-19, the NTPC Sipat unit and its associates have taken a number of measures to safeguard its employees and associates from the pandemic. Earlier, Rs 25 lakh was handed over to the Bilaspur district administration, and Rs 2 lakh to Janpad Panchayat Masturi by the Sipat unit for sanitizing and other arrangements to fight Covid-19. Sangwari Mahila Samiti (SMS) too donated Rs 50,00 to the district red cross society, Bilaspur.
