Nagpur Mumbai Duronto Express today derailed near Titwala in Maharashtra, ANI reported. It has been learnt that five coaches and engine have derailed and rescue operation is on, according to reports. The incident occurred at 6.40 am. A rescue team rushed from Kalyan. The Central Railway said that Nagpur Mumbai Duronto Express has derailed between Vasind and Asangaon. There are no injuries to passengers, it said. The Central Railway was arranging buses to ferry passengers to destination. Doctors and senior officers are already at site, Central Railway said, as perr ANI. This comes a week after Puri-Haridwar Kalinga Utkal Express and Kafiyat Express had derailed at Khatauli near Muzaffarnagar and in Auraiya district of Uttar Pradesh respectively.
On August 23, Kafiyat Express had derailed in Uttar Pradesh’s Auraiya district after dashing against a dumper carrying construction material for railway work, according to PTI report. The railways said 25 persons were injured in the incident and that the dumper did not belong to them, PTI reported.
