Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday gave his consent to visit Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh and address a rally on the occasion of completion of one year in office of the current BJP government in the state. Modi gave the consent when Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur met him to request for his visit and to address the celebratory rally.

Following the meeting, the state government issued a statement here, saying Jai Ram Thakur “urged the Prime Minister for his blessings and guidance on the occasion”. “The Prime Minister has agreed to visit Dharamsala on December 27”, it was added. The PM might also lay foundation stone of the Smart City project though not much progress has been made on the project. He was expected to lay the foundation stone of the Central University at Dharamsala and Dehra.
