An earthquake measuring 2.8 on the Richter scale hit Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand on Monday at 12.35 pm. As per the District Disaster Management office, the epicentre of the earthquake was located in Kapkote at latitude 29.8 degree North and longitude 79.8 degree East. There are no reports of damage to life or property as the tremors were light. The authorities said as the district was sensitive to disasters, the disaster control room had been activated.
