Manohar Parrikar was today sworn in as the new Goa chief minister. He will have to take the floor test on Thursday. The swearing-in ceremony was attended by top leaders of BJP, including Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari and Venkaiah Naidu. Eight other ministers also took oath.

Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court refused to stay the swearing in ceremony of Parrikar but asked the Goa governor to conduct the floor test on March 16; the governor had earlier given 15 days to 15 days to the BJP to prove its majority in the newly elected Goa assembly. Congress had filed a petition in the apex court alleging that the BJP has stole the mandate it got from Goa people.
