As part of his campaign, NDA presidential nominee Ram Nath Kovind today visited Uttarakhand and met Chief Minister TS Rawat and MLAs of the BJP. The presidential nominee met the Chief Minister at his residence and held discussions with Rawat, Speaker Prem Chand Agarwal, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prakash Pant and BJP MLAs. “I have come here to seek your support for the July 17 polls,” he said. The chief minister presented the presidential nominee a gift and a shawl. BJP MLA Suresh Rathore from Jawalapur and MLA Adesh Chauhan from Ranipur were among the two proposers from the NDA who signed the nomination papers of Kovind in New Delhi. “I have been associated with him for the last 23 years since Uttarakhand was part of UP. He had given a direction to the BJP for uplifting of the Dalits,” said Rathore.
