Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj inaugurated an international yoga festival at the Ganga Resort (Shisham Jhari) in Rishikesh today.The week-long festival is being attended by 1,500 practitioners and yoga acharayas from 90 countries. Addressing a gathering, Rawat said, “It is due to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that International Yoga Day is celebrated across the world on June 21 every year. Today India is giving the message of peace to the world through the ancient art.”He said Rishikesh had become the yoga capital of the world. He called upon the organisers to ensure that the participants from abroad were provided all facilities during their stay in Rishikesh.
