The Himachal Government has notified its State Information Technology Policy 2020 by announcing major incentives to make Himachal Pradesh the most favoured investment destination for IT companies.Called as the IT, ITeS and ESDM Policy – 2019, it offers many subsidies and incentives to attract investment in the IT sector. It talks of setting up of IT Park at Waknaghat and Gaggal. The thrust would also be to create a pool of highly skilled manpower.
Considering huge population of almost 10 lakh unemployed youth, another objective is to promote start-ups and entrepreneurship in the field. “To establish an e-governance framework with backward automation to promote ease of doing business and create a conducive business environment by ensuring digital service delivery in a time-bound manner,” said an official.
