A fire broke out at the NTPC thermal plant’s scrapyard at Kudgi at 1.00 p.m. on Wednesday, creating panic among the officials and workers.It was immediately doused by local workers with the help of firefighters who reached later.Mr. P.A. John, the media coordinator of the plant, said that since the fire was in a scrapyard, no loss of property was reported.
Investigation planned
“However, we are still trying to ascertain the reason for the fire. The NTPC will conduct an investigation. The matter has been brought to the notice of the police,” Mr. John said.
