Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat today accused the BJP government at the Centre of being responsible for deaths of two transporters Prakash Pandey and Balwant Bhatt in Uttarakhand.Addressing a press conference in Dehradun today, he said the economy of the country was in shambles due to faulty policies of the Centre forcing people to take extreme steps like suicide.

He said the recent case of suicide by transporter Balwant Bhatt was a fallout of the faulty economic policies being pursued by the Centre and seconded by the state BJP government. “After the transporter Prakash Pandey’s suicide incident, the state BJP government should have taken prompt remedial measures, but I think state government is totally insensitive towards these traders, who have suffered heavy losses due to note ban followed by the implementation of the GST”, Harish Rawat pointed out.
