Thunderstorms and gusty winds are likely to hit several northern Indian states, including Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi on Tuesday, according to the weather forecast by India Meteorological Department (IMD). The wind speed is predicted to touch 50-70 kilometers per hour. Delhi government has announced that all evening schools across the national capital will remain closed. Schools will also be shut in parts of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. An high alert has been issued in all the states. The AAP government has come out with a list of “dos and don’ts”.
A dust storm last night hit Delhi affecting the flight operations at Indira Gandhi International Airport. Following the IMD warning, the Delhi Metro has decided to exercise extreme caution in running of trains.
