After the central government called a special session of Parliament, the opposition is busy making strategies. According to information received from sources, Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge has called a meeting of opposition parties at his house on September 5 (Tuesday). A meeting of the leaders of the parties in the India Alliance will be held on September 5 at 8 pm under the chairmanship of Kharge, the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha.
Centre calls special session of Parliament
Taking a shocking decision, the central government had informed about the special convening of Parliament on August 31 (Thursday). A special session of Parliament has been called from September 18 to 22, in which five sittings are to be held.
Kharge was not part of ‘One Nation, One Election’ committee
The central government has formed an 8-member committee for ‘One Nation, One Election’. Former President Ram Nath Kovind was made its president. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, former Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad have been included in the committee. However, ‘One Nation, One Election’ Due to the absence of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s name in the committee, many leaders of the Congress as well as the opposition expressed displeasure. After this, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury also refused to be part of this committee
