    CM Inaugurates 7 Projects

    Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday virtually inaugurated a total of seven construction works including protective work of Malan Bridge built on Chillarkhal-Pakharo motor road in Kotdwar area of Pauri district.

    Addressing the public virtually from Dehradun, the CM said that the reconstruction of Malan Bridge is a symbol of the commitment of the state government, under which the infrastructure is being strengthened in remote areas. “With the start of this bridge, Kotdwar and surrounding rural areas will get convenience in transportation and economic activities will also get a boost”, he said.

    Dhami said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the infrastructure related to education, health, drinking water, road, rail and air connectivity is being strengthened in the state. “Many important schemes are also being worked on for the development of Kotdwar. While on one hand the construction of a state-of-the-art sewerage treatment plant is going on in Kotdwar at a cost of ₹135 crore under the Namami Gange project, on the other hand, a four-lane bypass and Kotdwar-Najibabad double lane road are also being constructed in Kotdwar at a cost of ₹691 crore,” he said.

    He added that the Kotdwar-Pauri-Srinagar road is also being upgraded to a double lane now. “This will provide convenience to passengers and give impetus to economic activities”, he said.

    The CM said that Kotdwar railway station is being renovated under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. “Construction of hospital and bus stand terminal is also in progress in Kotdwar. A proposal has been brought in the cabinet for the construction of Kendriya Vidyalaya in Kotdwar and land has been transferred for the school”, he said.

    The works inaugurated by CM included protective work of 325-metre bridge on Malan river at a cost of ₹26 crore, Sukhraon bridge of 385 meter span located at 12 km of Chillarkhal-Pakharo motor road, 300 meter span double lane bridge on Sukhron river, 90 meter span Grastganj bridge situated on Khoh river, 100 meter span Gular bridge situated on Khoh river, 100 meter span bridge on Khoh river and strengthening work of Chillarkhal-Sigaddi-Kotdwar-Pakharo motor road.
