BJP president Amit Shah, addressing a meeting of Panna Pramukhs in Una today, called upon the workers to ensure 50 per cent votes in favour of the BJP from their respective page. He said three party workers had been selected as Panna Pramukhs from each page of the voter list from a polling station, adding that there were about 2,000 to 2,500 party workers from each Assembly segment.
Amit Shah said both Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Narendra Modi had strong roots in Himachal Pradesh. While Vajpayee had his home in Kullu district, Modi had worked here to strengthen the party organisation for many years. He said it was proper that the victory storm for the NDA should originate from here and spread to the neighbouring states. The BJP chief said the conditions were more favourable for the NDA’s victory this time rather than in 2014 when the UPA government was at the helm of affairs.
