The Uttarakhand BJP is likely to finalise the name of the party candidate for the Tharali (SC) bypoll on Friday, the day when the state in charge for Uttarakhand Shayam Jaju arrives here and makes the announcement.For now, the suspense continues over the likely candidate as the name of Balbir Guniyal, who is also secretary of Uttarakhand BJP, along with other candidates Munni Devi and Guddu Lal.A few days ago, the BJP had co-opted Guddu Lal, a local leader who had taken an independent course in the 2017 Assembly elections after Magan Lal Shah was preferred over for the Tharali seat by the BJP leadership.From the word go, deceased Magan Lal Shah’s wife Munni Devi is being trumpeted as the rightful successor of Magan Lal Shah by her supporters who are demanding a ticket for her.
