(PTI) Accelerated adoption of electric and shared vehicles could save $60 billion in diesel and petrol costs while cutting down as much as 1 gigatonne (GT) of carbon emissions for India by 2030, says a joint report released today by Niti Aayog. It said however that the country faces challenges that signal the “gravitational pull of privately owned vehicles”. The water storage available in 91 major reservoirs of the country for the week ending on May 11, 2017 was 37.718 BCM, which is 24% of total storage capacity of these reservoirs. This percentage was at 26 for the week ending on May 04, 2017. The level of May 11, 2017 was 125% of the storage of corresponding period of last year and 103% of storage of average of last ten years.
