The number of income tax payers has increased after demonetization. During the period of 09.11.2016 to 31.03.2017, 1.96 crore returns were filed as compared to 1.63 crore returns filed during corresponding period of FY 2015-16 and 1.23 crore returns filed during corresponding period of FY 2014-15. Demonetisation seeks to create a new ‘normal’ wherein the GDP would be bigger, cleaner and real. The Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas have reviewed international prices of crude oil and petroleum products for the month of July 2017. In the case of PDS Kerosene, the under-recoveries with effect from August 1, 2017 will be Rs 7.02 per litre. The under-recovery was Rs. 6.82 per litre in the first fortnight of July 2017 and Rs. 6.57 in the last fortnight of the month. The cash transfer to customer under DBTL will be Rs. 44.23, out of which Rs. 29.02 will be Cash Compensation on Domestic LPG by Govt. to consumers & Rs 15.21…

(PTI) The government has ordered state-run oil companies to raise subsidised cooking gas (LPG) prices by Rs. 4 per cylinder every month to eliminate all the subsidies by March next year, Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said today. The government had previously asked Indian Oil (IOC), Bharat Petroleum (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL) to raise rates of subsidised domestic LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) by Rs. 2 per 14.2-kg cylinder per month (excluding VAT).
