(LiveMint) India has renegotiated the pricing of liquefied natural gas (LNG) imported from Australia’s Gorgon project to make the imported fuel affordable to price-sensitive domestic customers, oil minister Dharmendra Pradhan said on Saturday. India has been trying to leverage its position as one of the biggest energy consumers to strike better bargains for its companies. (DNA) On Saturday, the Centre stated that all SIM cards that weren’t linked to an Aadhaar card would be deactivated after Feb 2018. The Centre said in a notice that Aadhaar mobile linkage was being done as per orders passed by the Supreme Court in February 2017 while hearing the Lokniti foundation case. (LiveMint) In a bid to crackdown on opaque paper transactions, the ministry of corporate affairs (MCA) is considering asking public unlisted companies to convert their shares into dematerialized or demat form, said three people with direct knowledge of the matter. The move could potentially impact around 68,000 companies. According to MCA, as of July, there are 1.14 million active companies limited by shares; of these, 75,193 are public companies.
