BT Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 10,748 crore in the December-end quarter. The state-run petroleum giant’s revenue from operations in third quarter of current fiscal stood at ₹1,65,569 crore, seeing a decline of 2.2 per cent, compared to ₹1,69,213 crore in the year-ago period. ONGC, which accounts for 67% of India’s oil and 54% its gas production, also declared an interim dividend of 80 per cent, i.e. ₹4 per equity share. PTI The JSW group on Saturday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Odisha government for establishment of an Integrated Electric Vehicle (EV) and EV Battery manufacturing project at an investment of Rs 40,000 crore in the state. At Naraj in Cuttack district the JSW group will set up an EV vehicle, and component manufacturing plant, while at Paradip in Jagatsinghpur district, it will set up a copper smelter and lithium refinery. The provisional figures of Direct Tax collections continue to register steady growth. Direct Tax collections up to 10th February, 2024 show that gross collections are at Rs. 18.38 lakh crore which is 17.30% higher than the gross collections for the corresponding period of last year. Direct Tax collection, net of refunds, stands at Rs. 15.60 lakh crore which is 20.25 % higher than the net collections for the corresponding period of last year. FE State-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation aims to start the drilling operations in its Andaman wells by May, the company’s director-exploration Sushma Rawat told FE. The country’s largest oil exploration and production company had won two blocks in the Andaman basins in the sixth round of bidding under the open acreage licencing programme.
