Government of India have announced the Sale (re-issue) of (i) “6.84 per cent Government Stock, 2022” for a notified amount of Rs 3000 crore (nominal) through price based auction, (ii)“6.68 per cent Government Stock, 2031” for a notified amount of Rs8,000 crore (nominal) through price based auction, (iii) “6.57 per cent Government Stock, 2033” for a notified amount of ` 2,000 crore (nominal) through price based auction, and (iv) “7.06 per cent Government Stock, 2046” for a notified amount of ` 2,000 crore (nominal) through price based auction. The water storage available in 91 major reservoirs of the country for the week ending on December 21, 2017 was 90.845 BCM which is 56% of total storage capacity of these reservoirs. This percentage was at 58 for the week ending on December 14, 2017. The level of water storage in the week ending on December 21, 2017 was95% of the storage of corresponding period of last year and 95% of storage of average of last ten years. Raja in a case on alleged irregularities in the 2008 allocation of 2G telecom spectrum and licences—a scandal that contributed to the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance’s electoral downfall in 2014..
