The temperatures remained below the freezing point in many places in the state, an official of the meteorological office said here today. (LiveMint) State Bank of India, the country’s largest lender, on Monday reduced interest rates on loans linked to the base rate by 30 basis points.With this reduction, SBI’s base rate now stands at 8.65%. (PTI) The second unit of NTPC’s plant at Kudgi in the state has commenced commercial operations, benefiting Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. The major beneficiary will be Karnataka, which will get an allocation of 54 per cent of power generated from the two plants in Vijayapura district.
