The Aam Aadmi Party will contest the coming local body elections in the state, AAP Uttarakhand in charge Rakesh Sinha said in a press conference here today. He said the AAP was of the firm view that even after coming to power in the local bodies like municipalities and corporations, one can serve the people with full dedication and honesty.Strongly criticising the state BJP government, Sinha said the six-month rule of the Rawat government had failed to meet the people’s expectations. He said inflation was on a high and the government had failed to provide jobs to a large number of unemployed youth in the state.
He said the condition of Uttarakhand region had failed to improve despite carving out of separate state from Uttar Pradesh. “I don’t think people of Uttarakhand have benefited from the formation of state and are still to get basic infrastructure like health and education for all,” Sinha pointed out.
