GST Brings Down the Price of Commercial LPG

There has been a reduction of nearly ₹80 in the price of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder this month in Hyderabad, a good chunk of that on account of the new Goods and Services Tax (GST).

The price has dropped by ₹78.50 per refill, something that is bound to bring cheer to the users, primarily those who run tea stalls, eateries, restaurants and hotels.

Commercial enterprises that use LPG for welding and heating purposes are by law required to use this cylinder as the subsidised, 14.2-kg LPG cylinders are meant only for households. The reduction on account of GST is ₹70.50, a senior official of the Indian Oil Corporation said. The rest is on account of change in LPG prices. A non-subsidised product from the stables of national oil marketing companies, namely IOC, BPCL and HPCL, 19-kg cylinder’s price is revised every month depending on the international LPG prices.
