In its bid to attract investment and bring Uttar Pradesh on par with top industrial states, the Yogi Adityanath government is planning to set up an industrial development board under the chief minister’s office. It will be a one-stop solution to all the industry-related issues. This umbrella department would be governed on the principles of a single-window system and would facilitate clearances within 30 days instead of 120 days that had been mandated by the previous industrial policy.

Giving details at the end of the fifth meeting of the group of ministers that is drafting the new industrial policy, industrial development minister Satish Mahana said bringing in investment is high on the government’s agenda and the focus would be on providing ease of doing business.

“The new UP government is very serious about attracting investment and giving a thrust to industrial development in the state. We would be finalising the new industrial policy by May 30, in which we would provide open access to small, medium and large industries and also set up a single-window system under the chief minister’s office, which would be monitoring online transparent solutions.
