Action Director Praises Alia’s Dedication In Alpha

The buzz surrounding Alpha, the upcoming spy-action thriller starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, continues to grow following the release of its action-packed trailer. While the trailer generated excitement among fans, it also sparked criticism from some social media users who questioned Alia Bhatt’s suitability for high-intensity action sequences. Now, the film’s action director, Craig Macrae, has come out strongly in support of the actress.

Macrae, an internationally recognized action choreographer, praised both Alia and Sharvari for their commitment and hard work during the film’s preparation. He highlighted Alia’s exceptional work ethic, saying she dedicated significant time and effort not only to mastering the action scenes but also to developing her character.

According to Macrae, Alia’s willingness to go beyond what was required sets her apart. He noted that she invested heavily in physical conditioning, stunt training, and character preparation, which he believes will translate into a powerful on-screen performance. He added that it is rare to find actors willing to commit the amount of time and effort that both Alia and Sharvari devoted to the project.

The trailer offers a glimpse into a unique narrative that reimagines a traditional princess story. Alia’s character, Sita, chooses to fight her own battles rather than wait to be rescued. Sharvari plays a key ally who initially appears untrustworthy but eventually joins forces with Sita in a dangerous mission.

The film also features Bobby Deol as the primary antagonist and Anil Kapoor in a pivotal role. Directed by Shiv Rawail and produced by Yash Raj Films, Alpha is positioned as a major addition to the studio’s expanding spy universe.

Macrae’s comments arrive at a time when online debates continue over Alia’s action credentials. However, the action director remains confident that audiences will witness a completely new side of the actress when the film arrives in cinemas worldwide on July 3, 2026.
