    41 more people died due to heavy rain, floods and rains create wreaked havoc in north India

    Torrential rains have wreaked havoc across the country for the last three days. At present, the havoc of rain is being seen in Himachal Pradesh. Similar conditions are being seen in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana. Accourding media reports so far 41 more people are losing their lives after this devastation caused by heavy rains in North India. To intensify relief and rescue operations Several teams of army and NDRF have been deployed.

    Himachal Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said at least 17 people have died in rain-related incidents in the state in the last two days. Sukkhu says that in the last 50 years, the state has not seen such heavy rains. He said efforts were on to rescue 400 tourists and locals stranded between Pagal and Telgi nallahs in Lahaul and Spiti in Chandratal.

    How many deaths occurred in which states?

    Nine people were killed and six others injured on Sunday in landslides and other related incidents during the ongoing heavy rains in Uttarakhand, officials said. The administration has been asked to remain on ‘red alert’ in view of the forecast of bad weather by the Meteorological Department for the time being. Several roads, including national highways, were closed due to landslides at several places. Apart from this, heavy rains also occurred in Uttar Pradesh. After this, 17 people have been reported dead. About 9 people died in Punjab and Haryana.

    Several rivers, including the Yamuna in Delhi, are overflowing in north India, with several roads and residential areas in the region submerged in knee-deep water, with vehicles seen swept away in the flood waters at several places. A total of 39 NDRF teams have been deployed to deal with heavy rains and floods in four states of north India. Officials said 14 NDRF teams are working in Punjab, while a dozen teams are deployed in Himachal Pradesh, eight in Uttarakhand and five in Haryana.
