Finance Minister Nirmala Sithraman has asked the big companies to pay off their dues, left to pay MSMEs. The big companies have around Rs 40,000 crores outstanding to pay to the MSMEs. After meeting the heads of PSU banks to review the credit growth, she said that the banks have disbursed Rs 81,700 crores between 1- 9 October. She added that second outreach programme will take place from 21-25 October. The focus of the meeting remained the liquidity support to the non-banking finance companies. However, the FM added that the PSU banks have informed that there is sufficient liquidity in the system. This is the second time in the last month when the Finance Minister is meeting the heads of PSU banks.
