Union Petroleum and Skill Development Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday flagged off a ‘Run for Unity’ here on the occasion of birth anniversary of Sardar Ballabbhai Patel this morning. Thousands of youths participated in the marathon run conducted with a slogan, “Eka Bharat, Shrestha Bharat”.
Speaking on the occasion, Pradhan said, “Sardar Ballabbhai Patel was given due respect after 72 years of Independence. The 182-metre high statue of Patel, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Gujarat, will certainly inspire people to remain united for ever.” He said that Bharat became a country from the Himalayas to Kanyakumari due to efforts of Sardar Patel.
