Punjab’s first piped natural gas (PNG) project is close to becoming a reality in the holy city of Amritsar by October. The PNG will not only give users freedom from hassles of of refilling LPG cylilnders but will also help improve environment of Punjab, those linked to the project say. Amritsar deputy commissioner Kamaldeep Singh Sangha told that a city gas station for PNG had been set up Fatehpura Rajputan village near Chowk Mehta which would receive PNG PNG would be supplied to domestic and commercial units through polyethylene (PE) pipelines laid one meter below the surface.
