The acute water crisis in the capital triggered law and order problem last midnight when residents blocked a road and stopped a water tanker near Kanlog. The tanker was released after the police intervened. The angry mob then overturned the police vehicle.Impatient for water, the residents thronged the CM’s residence, Oakover, at 1 am and raised slogans. They had a scuffle with policemen when they tried to enter his house. Three residents, who were reportedly roughed up in the scuffle, accused the DSP and SHO of thrashing them. They were taken to Ripon hospital for medical examination, but no FIR was lodged.
