As many as 78,450 BPL beneficiaries will get free domestic gas connection in the first phase of Mukhyamantri Anila Bhagya Scheme in Kalaburagi district, Minister for Medical Education and district in-charge Sharanprakash Patil has said. Speaking with the officials of a committee set up for implementing the scheme here recently, Mr. Patil said 2,46,604 families in the district do not have LPG connections.
The committee has identified the beneficiaries as per the data provided by the public distribution systems across the district.He asked the MLAs of respective constituencies to finalise the list of eligible beneficiaries for Anila Bhagya within a week.
The government would bear ₹4,040 for each beneficiary, including 1,000 towards gas burner stove, ₹ 1,100 towards two filled cylinders, spare parts and security deposits. Of the 78,450 beneficiaries selected in first phase — 11,011 beneficiaries are from Afzalpur taluk, 10,466 from Aland, 11,236 from Chincholli constituency, 9,023 beneficiaries in Chitapur, 13,775 in Jewargi, 10,757 in Sedam, 9,949 beneficiaries from Kalaburagi rural and 2,232 in Kalaburagi South will get free domestic gas connections.
