The 13-day budget session of the Uttarakhand Assembly will commence here on Thursday.Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prakash Pant, who also holds the Finance portfolio, would present the budget for 2017-2018 on the opening day of the house, which would then come up for discussion on the following days.Speaker Prem Chand Agarwal convened an all-party meeting today ahead of the session and called upon the representatives of the political parties to cooperate so that the House can work smoothly.
“I have asked the representatives of both the Opposition and the treasury benches to cooperate for the smooth functioning of the House. All the members of the house will be heard, provided they raise the issues as mandated in the rule book,” Agarwal said.Along with holding the all-party meeting, the Speaker also held a meeting of the business advisory committee for approval of the business for the budget session. “Depending on the discussion, the money bill will be passed either on June 14 or June 15,” said Agarwal.
